Experience Summary
During my senior year at the University of Pittsburgh, I was a tutor for the statistics department for introductory classes. Along with tutoring for the class material, I also have experience in teaching statistical packages such as Excel, Minitab, and SPSS. I believe that the subject of Statistics is fun, contrary to many beliefs. I enjoy spreading the knowledge of the subject to students who what to know more. Throughout my time in school, I have helped numerous friends in both the subject of math and statistics. With each student that seeks help, I gain more in return.
Teaching Style
I grew up with both of my parents as teachers. They have showed me what it takes to be a good teacher. The most important part of teaching someone for me is patience. Without patience for the student, knowledge is not attained. Patience starts with the tutor and gets passed to the student through the tutor's actions. Along with patience comes practice. The fields of math and statistics take practice of problems to understand a concept. Problem after problem require patience until a student is comfortable with the subject. Many teachers have impacted my life, and I hope to do the same to students of all ages.
