Experience Summary
I have spent much of my time as an undergraduate mentoring underclassmen at ASU, not just to better understand their economics and political science classes, but also how to be a better, well-rounded students. As a Russian linguist I am qualified in a number of English linguistics subjects as well. Continuing that theme, I tutored my peers at law school in property, administrative and contracts law. I’ve been found to relate to well to fellow students and those younger than me. More than likely this is because I have spent much time abroad learning about a multitude cultures and learning their respective languages. My global knowledge allows me to relate with many different personality types.
Teaching Style
Growing up with four younger sisters, I have learned the valuable skills of patience and understanding. I approaching teaching and tutoring as a collaborative effort in which I treat each student with dignity and respect. I find treating students as equals while still providing the material in an engaging manner allows the students to grow and find their own voice which has proven to further and better cement the material in the student’s mind.
