Experience Summary
As an educator, I have been given the opportunity to teach a diverse group of learners, economically, physically, and mentally. I earned a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education and a Masters in School Library Media. I have served on various committees during my career.
Being a second year teacher, I was chosen to go to NASA as part of a grant experience and received classroom training from certified NASA employees. As a third year teacher, I, along with the other 4th grade teacher, were recognized by the Governor of Georgia and State Superintendent as being in the top ten percent of increased reading and math scores on the CRCT in the state.
Teaching Style
Education, regardless of learning ability, is a constant that shapes and molds the minds of many different age groups. As effective teacher, I am expected to educate students in a variety of ways. It is my job, as an educator, to create an environment that is richly immersed with learning, demonstrates effective knowledge, and teaches responsively. One important aspect of being a positive, influential, and effective teacher is realizing and understanding the different levels of intellectual development, understanding the acquisition of knowledge and how it is used, and possessing the ability to create a curriculum and instruction that can be useful to all types of learners.
