Experience Summary
Throughout my life, I have enjoyed and excelled at math and its applications. I graduated summa cum laude from an engineering program at Cal Poly successfully completing significant math coursework through advanced calculus. During the final two years of my undergraduate studies, I tutored university students in a variety of engineering classes, and more recently, I have been tutoring a high-school student in Algebra II with successful results. Also, as an architect and structural designer, I have solved many problems using the powerful tools of math.
Teaching Style
As I come from a family of educators, I believe teaching is in my blood. I am a product of a “learn by doing” university education and naturally, use this philosophy when tutoring. However, I believe I also blend-in an appropriate amount of theory so an understanding of the concept being taught can be applied to similar problems. Using a relaxed and patient approach, I enjoy sharing my knowledge with my students and helping them reach their learning potential. What a great way to make a difference.
