Experience Summary
I have over six years of tutoring experience. I have tutored students ranging from middle school to college and in subjects ranging from algebra I to calculus III. I have a Masters degree in applied math so I have taken a number of advanced mathematics courses. In addition to my technical proficiency, I have strong people skills and work well with students in a one on one setting.
Teaching Style
I believe that a student should enjoy learning. I had some fantastic teachers who taught me to love learning and I try to emulate these teachers when I work with students. One of the main keys to helping a student enjoy learning is to empower them to learn on their own by helping the student connect with the material at a point of understanding so that they can venture out on their own in whatever direction is of interest to them. In my experience, most students are very close to a point of understanding and only need some personalized instruction to make the final few steps. Once a student has connected with the material, the level of motivation and enjoyment they have for and from learning drastically increases.
