Experience Summary
I have tutored various math subjects, ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus at the college level. I have tutored one-on-one and have also tutored in small groups. I earned a BS degree in Mathematics Education and am anxious to put this degee to good use with teaching. For the past four years, I have had various positions as a tutor/teacher, particularly in math. These are some of the positions I have held before: After School Tutor, Tutorial Assistant at BYU’s Math Lab, Student Athlete Tutor (Trigonometry, College Algebra, Calculus), Supplemental Instruction Facilitator, and a high school Student Teacher.
Teaching Style
I love teaching others and have worked with a variety of people, who were from any level of elementary through college. My favorite part about teaching is when a student has the “Ah- ha” moment, reminding me that anyone is capable of learning a concept with practice and guidance. I am available to provide some of this guidance for you, so that you can enjoy some “Ah-ha” moments too. I am an easy going and patient person. When I work with students, I try to find their common mistakes/misconceptions so that I can address them and help refine students’ mathematical thinking. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I will try to teach concepts in a way that they can relate to, hopefully making it a more interesting and fun experience.
