Experience Summary
I graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute,a college that prides itself in a rigorous curriculum with a strong emphasis on projects that its students prepare for a real world experience. WPI’s fast paced 7 week terms helped me learn time management skills, self teaching, and working in groups. I have earned a BS in chemistry with a focus on organic synthesis, as well as a concentration in history, specifically the history technology. The projects I completed include creating and analyzing a new organic compound, traveling to Africa to research Roman water technology, and working at the Tower of London Museum to research visitor satisfaction. During the past two years I have worked as a chemistry and math tutor.
Teaching Style
I am passionate about chemistry and history, and I always enjoy helping students in these fields. Organic chemistry can be difficult for many students, but I believe one-on-one tutoring is a great way to help students. I find that visual learning through models, drawings, and written equations can be an effective way to retain knowledge. Enjoyment can be key to learning, and I endeavor to make learning as fun as possible.
