Experience Summary
I received a BA in both English and Elem Education at Assumption College in Worcester MA. This has allowed me to qualify teaching at the Elem level, and also teaching English at the jr high and highschool level.I became a substitite for Gilford High right out of college. I worked as an eighth grade long term substitute for Math, Science and Social Studies for 5 months. Upon the teacher returning, I then worked as a 7th grade paraprofessional until we moved to Bakersfield, where I now have taught secod grade for the past two years at Carden School.I have worked with many different grade levels. I have worked with different state's approaches to learning, and beleive this is an advantage in experience.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with all children. I believe every student needs to learn something through their individual academic advantages or skills. Each student learns things different ways, and it is my job as a teacher to use all of the different avenues in my instruction so that I can target each student's indiviual learning abilities. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery and in providing a constructivist approach to learning. I believe all children can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate surroundings and learning experiences. A few good educators can make a world of difference in a child's education. I strive to make a difference in all of my students' lives
