Experience Summary
As a young person, I thought I did not need to go to college. It did not take long to realize I was wrong. Over the next 20 years, I raised two children, worked, and attended classes. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA and a degree in Information Systems. As an education advocate, I have mentored school-age children with English, Writing, and computer skills. At my church, I taught first grade CCD for six years. As a student and marketing rep, I have an extensive portfolio of marketing and writing pieces. I have helped students write Essays and Research reports on any subject. Other areas I have tutored include organization skills, confidence building, computer applications, and study skills.
Teaching Style
I love teaching people and believe everyone can learn anything. As a visual learner, I like to show and tell the subject matter. My style is very relaxed and I search for "real world" examples people can connect with. My mother gave me the gift of being a "great story-teller," so I enjoy applying my examples into some sort of memorable story or event. I am passionate about learning and strive to share my enthusiasm with others. Every day life teaches me something new and I consider myself a lifetime learner.
