Experience Summary
I have taught reading, writing, math, science, and social studies to special needs children with mild and moderate disabilities. I represent Kaplan College General Education program’s curriculum concerns, effectiveness, and needs. As a college adjunct educator I have taught developmental reading and writing. I have experience in tutoring middle school, elementary, and college students in English, reading, language arts, education, and math. I have earned a BS of Education in Intervention Specialist and an M.Ed of Science in Curriculum Specialist which required the completion of a thesis entitled “Factors That Contribute to Emotionally Disturbed Students Meeting Their Individualized Educational Behavioral Goals.”
Teaching Style
When teaching, I consider all learning modalities and styles. In my experience,visual and tactile approaches tend to have the highlest level of success. Technology such as learning games, computers, and etc. are useful tools in teaching. Hands on activites along with munipulatives and supplemental materials are excellent additions to validate that the skill or lesson taught is being comprehended.
