Experience Summary
I specialize in Special Education and am a Learning Specialist and educational advocate. I have a passion for student's who have unique learning styles, and need to learn "how they learn" in order to advocate for themselves in the learning environment. I review their records, speak with the student/parents, to ascertain a full understanding of their learning process. I help students learn in a way that they will utilize their entire lives. I specialize in differentiated instruction, and accommodations and strategies. I work with student's who may have developed behavioral, emotional, and unique challenges. I work with children have have ADHD, NVLD, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, LD, and executive functioning disorders.
Teaching Style
I relate well to student's,, and that younger people feel safe to learn with me. I have a strong empathy for their challenges, and know that in order to be successful it is crucial to develop relationships with my student's. Every child has a unique learning profile, and each student wants to reach their potential. Many of my students and internalize that there is something "wrong" with them. I also work as an educational advocate for students and parents, in order to assist the schools in understanding how a specific student learns.
