Experience Summary
Throughout my academic years, in the public school system and higher education, I excelled in mathematics. As a senior at Harding University High School in Charlotte, NC, I obtained a top score of 4 out of 5 on the Advanced Placement Calculus AB exam. This allowed me to bypass taking Calculus I as a freshman at N.C. State University where I majored in meteorology. Meteorology, a science that studies the dynamics of weather, requires complex mathematical knowledge. At the completion of my undergraduate meteorology curriculum, I received an A+ in Calculus II and III. In May, 2008, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree. For the past two years, I have been tutoring middle and high school students in math at two private schools in North Carolina.
Teaching Style
My teaching technique strictly focuses on the task at hand mainly for proper concentration. I value and encourage student questions because it demonstrates my knowledge and expertise about the material being taught. I do not tolerate immature and irresponsible behavior from a student because it hinders a student's progress when he/she is unwilling to listen or seriously apply my teaching towards the objectives he/she want to accomplish. I take into consideration a student's level of understanding for the material being taught and teach him/her accordingly. I believe that because of my experience with various types of mathematical content, I am confident students will reap the most advantageous benefits of my teaching!
