Experience Summary
I have been a special education teacher for 10 years, teaching primarily Reading, although I have taught other subjects. I have tutored numerous students both privately and through a local tutoring organization and the Learning Resource Center of Polk County. Through my educator preparation and Master's degree programs at Warner University, I was taught to treat students as individuals and to utilize their areas of strength in order to remediate their areas of need.
Teaching Style
I love Reading myself and enjoy passing on that love to students. I enjoy working one on one or in small groups with students, which allows you to really see the growth and progress. I believe all children have an innate ability to learn; but some simply need more than the traditional classroom setting provides. I believe in using the student's learning style, and building upon that to strengthen their areas of need.
