Experience Summary
Perpetual student is a label I proudly accept. I began my post-secondary education acquiring a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts-Dance with a minor in Psychology. I continued my schooling by earning a Massage Therapy Certification then completed the coursework to turn my Psychology minor into an additional major. Currently, I am nearing completion of a Master’s in Special Education with a Teaching Certificate. An elementary education and cognitive impairment focus has provided numerous teaching opportunities. Due to my education and life experience, I feel comfortable tutoring students of all ages and abilities. I have recently taught English language arts, various arithmetic subjects, social studies and science lessons.
Teaching Style
I have found my joy and it is teaching. I believe that with patience, appropriate instructional methods and a positive environment every person is able to learn. Through periodicals and personal research, I do my best to remain conscious of best practices and alternative teaching strategies. My self reflection skills are well developed which allows for quick and constructive lesson modifications. A significant effort is made to incorporate many learning styles into every lesson. I also attempt to employ technology and real world experiences whenever possible. To instill a love for learning while teaching specific material is my ultimate goal.
