Experience Summary
I graduated from an accredited Education College in Holland. Michigan. Hope College was a four year Liberal Arts college that required me to have 5 field experiences throughout my semesters in a variety of areas, as well as a full semester of student teaching. During this experience I worked in Primary, Upper Elementary, Middle School, ESL, and Special Education classrooms. I student taught in a 6th grade Language Arts classroom. Upon graduation I moved to Las Vegas and began teaching at K.O. Knudson Middle School. I am going to begin my third year next fall. At K.O. Knudson I have taught 6th grade Accelerated Math and 7th grade Reading.
Teaching Style
I am a very energetic and enthusiastic person, so working with kids was always what I wanted to do. I love the relationships that develop and how the relationships affect the student performance. I am a very hands on, real life learner myself so I tend to do that with my students. Overall, I want to make kids excited to take ownership over their learning. When they feel like it is their own, they invest more in to it, making every thing they do more successful.
