Experience Summary
While tutoring elementary school students in Detroit during college, I discovered a passion for teaching. Since then, I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds. My experiences include teaching English abroad, coordinating an after-school program, mentoring at-risk teenagers and working in preschools. In addition, I have worked as a counselor at summer camps and volunteer with the Big Brothers program.
Teaching Style
Students respond to my combination of structure, creativity and enthusiasm. Positive reinforcement is a key element to my teaching style. All students need encouragement and maintaining a positive attitude at all times helps ensure success. I enjoy seeing the progress of students and take pride in knowing that I took part in the process.
