Experience Summary
I graduated from the University of South Florida with Chemistry B.S. and Mathematics B.A in Dec. 2009. I worked full-time. I have tutored pre-K kids to count and pronounce words, a 6th, 9th and 10th grade students in Math, and several adults in Biochemistry, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Statistics, Calculus I and II, and English I and II. I enjoy showing people that Math and Chemistry isn't awful but it is interesting, exciting, and pertains to everyday life; but, most importantly you can earn an "A". It is an awesome feeling when someone has been struggling/hating for years in a subject, then an "A" on an exam with a BIG smile.
Teaching Style
I believe that the basics are the structure to a solid foundation. If you can remember a song or remember sports statistics, then you can master Math or Chemistry or any topic. Learning should be in a relaxed environment with no interruptions(texting, music) for maximum retention and confidence in your knowledge. Also being rested and nutritional satisfied are required for productive learning. Math and Chemistry are like buildings; each section in a chapter is like a brick and the chapter is like a row. If you start skipping the understanding for each section, then you have holes for the next row; eventually, you cannot continue. My job is to find those holes, fill them, create an excitement so that you will never have holes again.
