Experience Summary
I hold a BS degree in elementary education. I have taught kindergarten, first grade and fifth grade. I have been a tutor for Sylvan Learning Centers. Since having children, I have worked part-time as a homebound teacher and as assistant director and curriculum coordinator at the Mother’s Day Out where my children attend. As a homebound teacher, I traveled throughout the county to work with students that were homebound for various reasons. I worked with students from K - 12th grade. I acted as a liaison between school and home. I would pick up the student’s assignments for his/her teachers and take it to the student’s home. It was a very rewarding job. I became close to many of my students and their families.
Teaching Style
I have always loved working with children. I believe that children have different learning styles and it is an educators job to discover what learning style each student has. I believe all children should be given high expectations. They rise to meet their expectations. I believe all children can succeed if given the appropriate experiences. If a child isn't succeeding, it is the educators job to try something new. I am patient and understanding. I get along with all types of people. I look forward to being a positive role model in your child's educational experience.
