Experience Summary
I was a foster parent for fourteen years in which I spent numerous hours with each child weekly working with them to improve their academic skills. I taught a 4th/5th grade class in the 2006/2007 school year. I graduated with a 3.92 GPA where I excelled as a writer. I currently write the company newsletter at my place of employment. I love to teach and hope to be able to spend more time doing so. My BS is in Human Services.I also have added alcohol and drug studies to that degree. I will be taking a certification test very soon to acquire a RAS drug and alcohol certification. In my drug and alcohol study I became certified as a Motivational Interviewer and also received a certification in Group Facilitation.
Teaching Style
I have had the experience to maintain patience when teaching students. I have always loved helping children become confident in who they are as well as in achieving their academic potential. I make an effort to create a comfortable environment where students are able to approach me for all their questions as we work to improve the skills they must have for a future full of hope and opportunity.
