Experience Summary
I graduated Cum Laude from University of Dayton with a degree in Environmental Biology. Here, I tutored middle school students competing in the Science Olympiad. I have taken classes in biology, chemistry, physics, and statistics. As a graduate student at the Ohio State University, I teach recitations and labs. Recitation is often structured as a class period where students can come and receive extra help to supplement lectures. Lab is often a separate course from the lecture, allowing students to have hands on experience in the field. I have taught anatomy, animal form and function/physiology, conservation biology, and ecology. I also assist elementary school aged family members with science homework and projects.
Teaching Style
I have a deep interest and passion for science, particularly biology. I think it is important to make science accessible and fun. I am a very patient person, and I am willing to explain concepts in several different ways, using a variety of methods. Biological and scientific concepts are critical components of a student’s education, and it is my goal to assist each student in thoroughly understanding these subjects.
