Experience Summary

I have known that I wanted a career in education since I was a little girl. Fittingly, I graduated Cum Laude with a Degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and a minor in History. I completed two internships: one in AP Psychology and the other in World History. I have one year experience as an educator. During this year, I taught high school US History and Government. I have a strong background in tutoring and feel comfortable not only teaching social studies, but also study skills, computer skills, and composition. Other than teaching, I also have experience as a coach for a Varsity Pom program. Over the four years that I was coach and choreographer, I created a squad that was winning Regional competitions and competing Nationally.

Teaching Style

I am very passionate about education and hold the belief that all children are capable of excelling in the classroom. I am a firm believer that individual attention from an educator is often necessary for a student to achieve this success. My goal is to make the subject come alive for my students and to help them master all relevant material and skills. It is not enough to merely help them memorize facts - it is important to understand why these facts are important and to help them see the bigger picture of what they have been asked to learn.
