Experience Summary
I earned my Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from University of Pittsburgh. During my tenure there I taught chemistry to freshman, juniors and seniors. I have also had chance to be involved in training younger chemist to teach. The sum of these experiences has helped shape the attitudes, belief and approaches that I bring into my teaching today.
Teaching Style
One of the very valuable lessons that I learned from my mentors and my own teaching experiences was to understand how people learn. Each student has his/her needs and responds to different styles of learning. As one of my teaching objectives, I want to accommodate every student and create learning path which helps students enjoy learning without getting frustrated. From my personal experiences, I recognized that students learn most from a teacher who is approachable and creates a comfortable environment conducive to learning. I want to guide the students in the right direction by providing them with the fundamental information to find answers and solve problems without always providing final answers myself.
