Experience Summary
I had 10 courses in accounting as an accounting major and took 5 courses in economics even though only 3 were required becuase I liked economics. I only had one course in statistics but I did well in it. Becuase accounting, economics and statistics are the courses that schools use to "weed" the crop for the business schools that has been where all the demand has been for tutoring and where I have gained all of my tutoring experience. I have turored courses in micro and macro economics, financial and managerial accounting and statistics. So far the students I have worked with have done well.
Teaching Style
I teach by the book and assigned homework. The main goal is for the student to do well in the course and the first step is to understand the material in the book and to complete all of the homework assignment. That tests are usually based on what was assigned in the homework. The student should do as much of the reading and homework as they can on their own then go over areas where they have problems or questions with the tutor. I can help them work out the problem areas and discuss the subjects with them.
