Experience Summary
I graduated from the nationally recognized North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, the first statewide residential magnet school of its kind in the country. I then attended North Carolina A&T State University, where I was a Chancellor Academic scholar, and a member of two engineering honor societies. I graduated magna cum laude with a 3.8 GPA in Electrical Engineering. Later, I furthered my education by earning a Masters of Business Administration in Finance at the University of North Carolina. My tutoring background includes three years as a volunteer undergraduate tutor, two years volunteering with the Motorola Math Tutor program, one year of math tutoring for the UGA college system, and two years in private tutoring.
Teaching Style
I really enjoy tutoring and seeing students grow in their understanding of a subject. I believe in teaching the fundamentals first and foremost, and my goal is to encourage students to want to learn. I am a patient tutor, and try to use humor and real life examples to keep sessions from becoming boring. I know all students can learn if the material is presented in a way that makes sense to them, so I use different teaching styles based on the student.
