Experience Summary
I am a recent graduate of two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Edward Waters College and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Florida A&M University. I was able to obtain both degrees under a Dual Degree Program that was arranged between the two institutions. Throughout the completion of my degrees, I tutored college students in various math areas (College Algebra, Trig, Linear Algebra, etc). The organization I tutored under was called "TRIO (Student Academic Support)” I even had personal tutor jobs on the side (ages 6 on up).
Teaching Style
I have a knack of finding where the weakness is in a student and I try my best to help improve it. Communication and patience are some of my greatest assets. Motivation and continuous encouragement is what I provide to each student I tutor. The goal is to make the student comfortable with each problem and make sure they have a clear understanding of each concept of the subject area. I prepare steps for my tutee to follow. Relating a problem to something they are familiar with sometimes can help bring a better understanding to what needs to done. Satisfaction comes in knowing the students has improved and is striving for more perfection.
