Experience Summary
I am certified in Elementary Education as well as Specific Learning Disabilites with twenty four years experience. I have taught first grade for three years, third grade for nine years, and special education resource for twelve years. My special education experiences includes grades 1-8, inclusion, and writing web-based IEp's. Teaching has been my life--I give everything I can to the students I work with--enthusiasm, positive support, and preparation to the work study area.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is based on positive feedback and reinforcement as well as using every means available in order to get a concept oover to a student. Through my years of teaching I have learned that a sense of humor, patience, and letting students know that I truly care about them goes a long way towards building a positive learning experience between teacher and student.
I have had the pleasure of working at Sylvan Learning Center. This experience has provided me with the ability to work with in a small group setting with children of different grade level, ability levels, and subject areas.
