Experience Summary
I am a laid off Pharmaceutical Chemist with a variety of experience training and teaching others. I was a supplemental Instructor at Eastern Michigan University in genetics and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I understand may different aspects of science with a AS in general science, and a BS in Biology with a minor in chemistry and I appreciate the desire to learn and to achieve in school because I am a current graduate student at Wayne State University studying Biological Sciences. I have lots of different real life experiences that help me to understand different types of personalities and how they each benefit most from tutoring.
Teaching Style
I am a very hands on learn so I tend to teach this way also. I use examples and pictures and allow students to do work on their own and may mistakes for I feel you have to make mistakes to learn. As a Biology student I understand the importance of memorization and try to convey this to my students. Also science is fun and if the student is having fun they are more likely to remember and thrive in their studies.
