Experience Summary
Since 2007 i've been tutoring at Miami Dade college and I had also tutored for a period of two semesters at Florida International University. A person will be able to learn once he/she finds the appropriate person that can present the subject in a way that is understandable (my opinion). I know that is a fact because i' ve been tutoring for several years now and students have different learning skills and the tutors' job is easy once they discover those learning skills.
Teaching Style
The first thing I always make sure I build in my students is the belief in success. I always make sure they know they re able to learn the materials. In addition, I usually ask them to tell me what they know about the subject and what they don't like about it. Once I know the students' views on the subject, I can then present it to them in a way different from the way they don't like or don't understand. I love to make learning enjoyable because I, myself, learn better in an enjoyable environment. Finally I usually walk students through the subject instead of taking control and teaching myself instead of the students. I believe communication is the key to learning.
