Experience Summary
I presently teach at a K-12 private school for students with learning differences. I have taught students in all grades, K-12. This year, I have been a remediation teacher in reading (decoding), math, and writing. In math, I am comfortable teaching through geometry. I have 10 plus years teaching students with dyslexia and other reading deficits with their decoding and spelling skills. Through programs that implement Orton-Gillingham approaches, I have found great success.
Teaching Style
Teaching is not a job for me, it is what defines me. I have been teaching for over 13 years and still desire to do nothing else. I love my job and find great joy in making a difference in the lives of my students. I have high expectations and believe students can reach their potential given the right support. I believe I also have the skills to teach those students who struggle most. I seem to have the knack for breaking it down for them so they can understand.
