Experience Summary
I am currently a graduate student at the Florida Institute of Technology, majoring in Marine Biology. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, with a major in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, and a minor in Fisheries and Aquatic sciences. I have taught ecology and biology students the last two years in college and high school. I have also tutored students in biology, ecology, marine biology, and in study techniques at the college level.
Teaching Style
I feel students learn best when they are engaged and interested in the topic. I think relating a topic in a practical and applied approach helps many students retain and apply the information they have learned. Some students work best with "Hands-on" activities (especially for kinesthetic learners), and some students are visual or auditory learners. It's important for me to provide a healthy mixture of these learning styles to make sure the student is reaching their full potential.
