Experience Summary
I attended Central Michigan University on a full-ride Centralis Scholar Award earning a BS in Accounting. Since graduating, I have worked in public accounting and am currently taking online courses to obtain a Masters degree in Accounting. I have taken every opportunity to tutor local high school students in any subject and local college students in English and Accounting.
Teaching Style
I believe that individuals of any age can learn new skills with the right instructor. The first step that any educator should take is to learn from students what approach works best with them. I do this by using multiple approaches for the same topic until it is fully understood in a way that makes practical application a natural progression. I am observant and empathetic in tutoring situations and will always adapt to the method that works. I often find that real world experiences and examples make the best teaching moments. Learning should never be frustrating or intimidating, and I strive to challenge students in a way that empowers them.
