Experience Summary
Upon graduating with a BS in education, I went on to teach at the middle school level. I was a special education teacher, inclusion teacher, remedial math and history teacher. During the summers I also taught and tutored children who had autism and other special needs. After three years of teaching, I went on to teach adult basic education and GED classes, also while tutoring middle school algebra students. I have extensive training on teaching learners with learning disabilities, mental impairments, ADD, ADHD, autism, as well as elementary and middle school math and reading.
Teaching Style
I love watching learners understand and succeed. As an instructor, I look at each student as an individual whose learning style is unique to them, and then I adapt my instruction to best fit their style. I love getting up and moving, playing games, and using creativity to bring understanding of a concept. If teachers will truly get to know their students and show them how to learn the best way that fits them, the possibilities are endless.
