Experience Summary
As an English major, I have capitalized on many opportunities to become engaged in and intimately involved with writing and tutoring writing. I am trained as a Peer Writing Tutor and have tutored undergraduate, graduate, and English language learning students in writing with an emphasis on forming better writers. As a Spanish minor in college, I have experience with Spanish grammar, reading and writing, speaking, and literature. I am familiar with all levels of high school Spanish as well as intermediate and advanced college Spanish courses. I am also familiar with preparation for the AP Spanish test. Additionally, I have worked closely with Division I student athletes in the past year, tutoring them in composition and mentoring. I am not only highly adept in structure, grammar, and writing techniques, but I am trained specifically in writing and learning collaboratively.
Teaching Style
I truly have a passion for tutoring writing and my ultimate goal is to help students learn to become better writers and take pride in the art of writing and their own communicative abilities. I am a firm believer in the power of collaborative learning; it is always my goal to help a student come to a discovery or develop a talent through collaboration and a sense of trust. I believe that every student has the ability to become not just a good writer, but a great writer; with the right encouragement, discussion, and practice, I strive to help create great writers.
