Experience Summary
I obtained my associate’s degree at Prairie State College in 1997. I received the honor of Valedictorian by my high educational standards of earning a 4.0 GPA. My main focus was to learn as much as possible in the sciences, such as biology, anatomy, chemistry, and microbiology. During my last full-time semester at Prairie State, I started a full-time curriculum at Worsham College of Mortuary Science. Worsham has a two year schedule condensed into one year. I earned a 96.32% GPA diploma and moved on to receive my Illinois Professional Funeral Director and Embalming License in 1998. While at Prairie State College, I volunteered at grammar schools to tutor grade school children with reading, and later taught the apprentices at work.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is positive. I also find ways to remember material by relating it to something familiar. I also advise students that studying the material each day as they learn will produce far better results than cramming before a test.
