Experience Summary
As a resident physician and staff physician I taught medical students and interns on various aspects of the clinical applications of their courses in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and other science subjects.
As a substitute science teacher in the Philadelphia School system, I taught high school students General Biology.
I have tutored my children when they were in high school in math and science. I have a daughter graduating from Dartmouth College this Spring;a son graduating from Gettysburg College next year; a daughter at Drew University and a son with cerebral palsy who is enrolled at Gloucester County College.
Teaching Style
I try to involve all students in lesson plans. I encourage active participation and interactive exchanges as I guide students through the lesson plan.
I really enjoy seeing students absorb new information, incorporating it into their existing knowledge base and showing eagerness to learn more.
I especially enjoy students from disadvantaged backgrounds and poor self-confidence become thirsty for knowledge.
