Experience Summary
I am an elementary, middle school teacher. I also have a Biology and (soon)algebra certification. I have tutored SAT Prep, math and reading comprehension for 2 years. I am a very patient and caring teacher/tutor who offers a variety of strategies to assist students with learning. I am comfortable teaching all levels of English, (I even interned at the White House, Office of Speechwriting). I love words and showing students how learning concepts can be applied to real life. I have studied French for 8 years and am happy to tutor up to 3rd year. I tutor all ages and most school subjects. I have strong Basic to intermediate Algebra skills and can tutor most High School and some college level subjects.
Teaching Style
I have a variety of techniques and strategies to encourage students to learn and remember content. I create a friendly, safe learning environment that builds student confidence. I view myself as a facilitator who coaches students to help them build skills and look at material in new and interesting ways. I build on the student's areas of interest and their unique learning styles to make sure they are interested and engaged in their learning.
