Experience Summary
I am a recent graduate earning two degrees, a bachelor’s degree in biology as well as elementary education. I completed my student teaching in 4th grade and continued my education directly into a biology program. While earning my bachelor’s degree in biology I created the Biology Club and took the role of vice president. I also was the work study student for mammalogy, zoology and microbiology. I also worked on a yearlong cancer research project that was presented at a national conference. My studied included, investigating prevention of ovarian tumor cell resistance to chemotherapy by decreasing the levels of glutathione-related enzymes. I am recently graduated, and would like to pursue a career in biological education and research.
Teaching Style
I believe that every person is born with a special gift. I believe that it is my role as a teacher to help a child discover those gifts and utilize them for the better good. This is what I will base my teaching philosophy around. Being a science teacher, I will rely on the scientific method. I will teach in a way that compels children to rethink their previous experiences and expand on those experiences with new meaningful ideas. I have always been extremely fascinated by biology and science; I would love to transform my passion into a real life room of fun and imagination. It is my dream to set my future classroom in ordinance to these beliefs. I hope to inspire and motivate my students to develop a passion for learning as I have.
