Experience Summary
I have spent the last 10 years educating young adults in both high school and college. I have taught in brick and mortar schools and in online institutions. In both, I have worked with students who are strong, natural learners who just need help fine tuning their writing and processing their ideas. I have also worked with students who struggle with every aspect of English from the reading of literature to getting their thoughts down on paper. My own time in graduate school has helped me to develop my finesse with grammar, word choice, sentence structure and organization. It is these skills I hope to help develop in my students in respect to their writing, from the most basic writer to the most skilled writer.
Teaching Style
Teaching is my passion. Besides being a mother, it is the thing that most defines me. I believe that learning is innate in all individuals, but, if an individual lacks passion, they will struggle at seeing their potential. As a teacher, it is my role to help each student find their own passion in learning. For some students, their passion is shown through reading and writing. For others, it is shown through their creations. For some, their passion is obvious; while for others, they need to have it teased out of them. I enjoy the challenge of helping students find their potential and their passion. Once they have found it, I love watching it grow!
