Experience Summary
As a graduate from Purdue University with a BS in biology and of a US medical school, I had to excel in the sciences. I helped train other residents in both clinical and lecture settings during residency and continued training medical and nursing students once in practice. In addition, I have home-schooled my own children so I am very familiar with different learning styles at all grade levels. I am strong in math and science through the high school level and anatomy and physiology at collegiate levels. Though not proficient in speaking other languages, I had four years of French and two years of German and am very familiar with the basics of learning languages, especially the grammatical breakdown of the romance languages.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and my goal is to help your child figure out how to become an independent learner. I believe the barriers to learning can be overcome by simply understanding what drives the learning process of your child and figuring out how he/she takes in, interprets, and utilizes information. This is the exciting part of teaching and takes good listening and observation skills as your child is likely unaware how he/she learns best. Breaking down the information into the basic units is key and takes patience and understanding. I am excited to open those doors with your child.
