Experience Summary
Over the past five years I have spent much time pursuing my college degree in Biology. Before my time in the Biology field I spent two years as an education major. In that field I learned how to be a professional educator, work with children with disabilities, and how to give direction to someone in need of help. My time in college has allowed me to experience various fields of Biology and I have been granted several opportunities. I’ve done everything from traveling with local shrimperies to performing PCR, DNA sequencing and chromatography in a laboratory. I spent 4 years as a nanny/tutor for a family with two children; I also spent a few months substitute teaching for a preschool.
Teaching Style
I thoroughly enjoy working with children and allowing them to have the opportunity to understand and get excited about learning. I am a very nurturing, patient, and relaxed individual who's teaching style reflects those characteristics. I believe learning and academic success is the ultimate reward for a child that has experienced trouble in school and hopefully I can be the one that helps them achieve that.
