Experience Summary
Although my chosen field of study is history, my passion is for education and learning. While earning both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, I have acquired an essential skill set for working in the academic world, which includes excellent writing, reading, and critical-thinking skills, in addition to a proficiency in Spanish acquired through years of classroom study and travel in Latin America. In addition to two years of teaching at the college level, I also have experience working one-on-one with individual students to help them develop their skills in writing and critical thinking.
Teaching Style
I believe that good teaching, like quality learning, comes with hard work. Having had the chance to see students grow with time, I have learned that patience, respect, and having fun are the best ingredients for a productive and positive learning experience. Often times, having a positive mentor can be that major difference in a student's life, and to that end I believe that tutoring is about more than just academic learning, but also about building relationships and learning essential life skills.
