Experience Summary
I worked as a Registered Nurse for 17 years doing patient care in hospital, including 5 years in Coronary Care; 4 years in Medical-Surgical Nursing; and 8 years as a Surgical Nurse in the Operating Room. In addition, my education as an organ transplant donor procurement officer at the Medical College (now part of the University of Toledo) included cadaver dissection, and Anatomy and Physiology; Pathophysiology, EKG: etc.
Teaching Style
I have taught Anatomy and Physiology in the classroom with 5-7 students; and have tutored struggling students one-to-one. I am a very creative teacher. I have used teddy bears to teach body descriptors, Flash cards, Diagrams, color matching- anything I can think of to help the learning "stick". I like to ask questions to help the student remember what is already known or taught; to think his/her way through to the logical outcome or possible answers to questions he/she has. I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum Development and Instructional Design. I will require the student to read assigned material prior to our sessions. We start at the student's baseline and progress from there.
