Experience Summary
I earned three degrees in five years, all in quantitative disciplines. The range of material covered by those degrees includes mathematics and statistics, economics, and some computer programming. Beyond my education background, I have five years of experience tutoring. In high school, I tutored children in reading and writing and other high school students in mathematics and Latin. In college, I have one additional year of experience tutoring introductory calculus.
Teaching Style
I believe the key to learning is to break complex concepts down into manageable sizes. The goal of tutoring is to relate new or difficult material to simple ideas that are already familiar to the student. Above all else, it is important to communicate with the student to understand where the breakdown in understanding is and then develop an approach that aids in comprehension.
