Experience Summary
I have over 25 years experience in managerial accounting in manufacturing. I worked as a cost accountant and financial analyst. I also have some small business experience as well. I have worked with a number of different accounting and ERP systems. I have 27 hours of undergraduate hours in accounting and 18 graduate hours in accounting. I have now taught cost accounting and beginning accounting course as Thomas Nelson Community College.
I have a love for accounting and finance but also appreciate the interaction with people. In my job I educated people about how accounting worked and tried to insure they understood how their actions could influence the numbers they were being judged by.
Teaching Style
I love working with people for them to understand how accounting works. An example of this is my ying/yang approach to understanding the interaction of the balance sheet. Assets equal liabilities and owners equity and that they have to stay in balance. It has been very successful.
I also believe that no student who is trying will fail. I work with students not only to learn but to succeed.
