Experience Summary
I taught in the Wright City RII School District for 26 years, at both high school and middle school level. During that time I taught everything from English and American literature to basic grammar and writing skills. I also taught some reading classes. I have extensive experience in writing research papers and strong skills in grammar and punctuation. I was an assistant principal for two years, and helped develop a reading program for the middle school. As a professional teacher tutoring students was an essential part of ensuring success for many of my students.
Teaching Style
I believe all children can learn. A good teacher tries to find each child's individual learning style and accomodate lessons to match it. I also think learning should be fun, so I use a lot of games and other incentives. I am patient, have a good sense of humor, and have age and the experience of being the mother of two twenty-somethings on my side.
