Experience Summary
I graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in Civil Engineering. During my years in College I worked as a tutor in the Math Lab, initially helping with math and science and later helping students with Spanish as well. At the Math lab I was a ‘floor tutor’ I had to walk around the lab and help students on as needed basis. I also had one-hour meetings with students. After I graduated college I worked for 6 years as an Engineer. Now I’m back in school pursuing my real passion, teaching! I am currently attending Saint Johns River Community College to obtain the Florida Teaching Certificate. I tutor friends and family on a regular basis on any subject…Math, Spanish, Science, Surfing, etc.
Teaching Style
I am a very patient person and that is reflected in the way I teach. When I tutor in an individual basis I allow the student to do most of the writing that way the brain needs to process what it hears in order to write it down. I enjoy teaching Math and Science because I find them easy to learn. I find it very satisfying when I tutor someone and at the end I can tell that they have learned something, I find this to be one of the things I do best. My friends and family always praise me on the way I teach things.
