Experience Summary
During my time as an academic graduate assistant at Salisbury University I strived to provide the highest level of education possible. My experiences have provided me with a unique opportunity to educate individuals with many different learning styles. My education and skills have allowed me educate individuals about anatomy and allied health care as a whole. My undergraduate education has allowed me to do this because of the importance of knowing and understanding the human body and how it works. While teaching at Salisbury I have educated students about general anatomy, physiology, general health, fitness, and the discipline of athletic training.
Teaching Style
I truly enjoy watching students learn over time. I take a pragmatic approach to teaching which has worked well for me in the past. I believe that students can learn best by doing, so they must immerse themselves in what they are trying to learn. I am an advocate of critical thinking because it forces students to analyze and form conclusions based the information provided. This makes learning more fun and everlasting because they are applying it rather than memorizing facts. My goal is to have students learn and be able to apply what they now know to multiple situations and be able to adapt.
