Experience Summary
I have a BS from LeTourneau University in Business Management, and have more 48 college hours in Science, English and History. I have been accepted in an Alternative Path to Certification program with A+ Texas Teachers. I have completed the 80 hours training required by Texas and passed the NCLB tests: TExES Science 116 (4 -8), TExES Special Education 161 (EC-12), and the Arizona Biology 07 (9-12).
My classroom experience was acquired during 3 1/2 years of teaching science in a high risk high school in Phoenix, AZ. At the school I help enrich the science department with movies, flash cards, outside actives, and plays. I tutored reading, and writing for the state of Arizona. I was also approved to teach math in Arizona.
Teaching Style
I have learned most people achieve best in a fun and interactive environment. Learning games, role modeling, flash cards, art, and music are a few tools that are used. Another important component is trust and teamwork. Once students know you have their best interest at heart, trust is built. In a one-to-one situation, a teacher must emphasize teamwork.
