Experience Summary
As a pre-med student I strove for excelllence in my undergraduate education at Azusa Pacific University. My course work was broadly based in chemistry and biology. Directly after graduating I was hired by Faith Bible High School to teach Anatomy and Physiology for the 2008-2009 school year. In the 2009-2010 school year I have taught psychology as a science elective. For the 2010-2011 school year I will be teaching two sections of Anatomy and Physiology. I am also a graduate student in the Center for Science Education working towards my masters in science teaching, earning my endorsement in Biology.
Teaching Style
I am enthusiastic and passionate about science. I feel that everyone has an ability to do well in science. I love to make content relevant to my student's lives. I believe it is important to strive for knowledge gains rather than just a grade. My final goal is for my students to do well and come away having enjoyed the content. Each student learns differently and it is my job to help them access the information where they are. I also challenge my students to further their scholastic aptitude by working on study skills, developing avenues to finding answers, and developing strategies for test taking. I would love the opportunity to help your student have success in their academic career.
