Experience Summary
My experience as an educator covers the range from grade six up to, an including grade twelve, grade twelve honors, and 'A' and 'O' levels in England. During this time frame, eleven years as a
professional educator, I have served as the Head of the English Department at East Catholic High School in Detroit, Michigan, I served on the Diocese of Tucson Curriculum Committee, and I served
twice on the A.I.M.S. Committee for Reading and Writing Bias.
Teaching Style
An outstanding teacher knows that ‘practice makes perfect’. I drill my students, thus obviating the fact that ‘practice makes perfect’. This rule, however, does not only apply to my classes, it also applies to my instructional techniques. I cut a video for the Student Teacher Monitor at Northern Arizona University that he might demonstrate the animation a teacher needs to be effective. I reviewed the video and found an area that I needed to work on. Thus, review, practice, and repetition will not only aid my students, it also helps me to improve.
